Consolidated government, and which court hears the case
Columbus and Muscogee County formed Georgia’s first consolidated government in 1971. Both the Superior Court and the State Court of Muscogee County sit in the Consolidated Government Center at 100 10th Street. State Court hears civil cases with no monetary limit, which makes it the ordinary venue for a car accident suit. Columbus falls in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit.
